Meditation

MEDITATE def. think deeply about something, contemplate, consider, ponder

There is something potent about uninterrupted, single minded, committed thought.

Do you step out of the traffic to chew it over like a cow (further) chews cud?

A changed mind transforms a life.

When the door flings open on your cable car…

cable car

In the late 1970s I rode the cable car/skyway at the Sydney Royal Easter Show with my family.

This ride was like no other that I experienced as, shortly after we left one side, the door flung open and remained open until we reached the other side! For those who rode it, you will remember it was a long trip especially with the constant pauses to let everyone off.

So leading into 2019 and reflecting on what was modeled in that cable car, here are three thoughts that I know will add value to your 2019

1. High emotion = low intelligence.

It doesn’t mean you’re a dope. It means that the more we get worked up the more likely we sabotage our intellectual faculties. Problem solving and decision making flourishes with cool heads. This is my fond recollection of my father that day and other scenarios like when I was riding a horse that lost it bridle at full gallop. This leads me to the next one…

2. Who you ride with matters.

The power of association determines what condition you end up at the other side.

My father was sitting opposite me and my Mum was to my right. The door was on mine and my father’s side. He simply put his foot up on my seat and his leg formed a bar across the doorway. He told me to stay seated and enjoy the view. Inner circle audits are crucial and year end reviews are another perfect time for this.

Who is riding in the car with you?

3. Celebrate all wins.

Some take great pleasure that you looked likely to fall.
Some only want to know you when it seems you are “on top”.
Others laugh AND cry with you.

DISC is not a way of labelling us or putting us in a box.

This human behavior model helps us improve our communication, get better results , improve our productivity and reduce our stress.

It assists us in becoming aware of the different opportunities.

The Maxwell Method of DISC is a human behavior model that helps us:

improve our communication,

get better results ,

improve our productivity and

reduce our stress.
Who wouldn’t want some of that?!

It’s not about fixing people but rather insights into growing ourselves. It’s like taking a snapshot of our design or wiring.

They say knowledge is power but when you apply the knowledge that is when you get results

Getting together with a coach who is certified in such a methodology who can also walk with you to guide you to and through a personal growth plan or trainings for your teams based on your snapshot is a certain next step toward that application and desired outcome!

Become aware of the different opportunities right before you right now.
