Growth Consciousness

Growth consciousness focuses on the journey rather than just the immediate goal.

“The greatest leaders are those who never consider themselves the finished article”

– my mentor Christian Simpson

Do you want
comfort ,
a challenge
or change ?

Growth is in the stretch.

The transformational journey is lifelong.

Space elevators

If you want to move from goal setting to goal getting I believe we get an insight from considering the S. M. A. R. T. Goal template.

You may be familiar with it. It that suggests we set goals that are:

  • Specific
  • Measurable
  • Achievable
  • Realistic
  • Timeframed

If we zero in today on the A & R, consider that what we see right now as “achievable” and “realistic” is what fits nicely into our belief system and beliefs drive our beahavior.

Limitations at current vantage points can cause us to write off what is achievable and realistic.

For example, up til recently I wouldn’t have thought that a space elevator was achievable or realistic but am now aware that a Japanese company is underway on getting this goal.

With coaching we can lift the lid on our limitations which in turn will impact our leadership influence and goal getting.

The value of a compass

Values are like a compass giving direction to our decision making.
Values are adhesive for teams helping them run together.
Values are magnetic attracting like-minded people to tribes.

When your values are clear to you making decisions becomes easier

– Roy Disney

Have you drawn out what your values are?
Have you identified what you hold in high regard?
What are the values that you want to live out?

A great coach can help you get clear with your values.

Woodpecking persistence

Persistence is that continued action in spite of opposition just like the Woodpecker pecking away on point.

This resolve …this tenacity …this staying power if aligned rather than competing with our goal is a key to move from goal setting to goal getting.

Others have discovered that a mastermind group is a conducive environment for developing persistence.

through the cooperative efforts of the members of this (mastermind)group you can develop persistence
